King Point PATTA and NSYU Sunshine Donate NT$1 Million in Scholarships to Support Underprivileged Students in Southern Kaohsiung

As the Lunar New Year approaches, many families receiving financial assistance from the Southern Kaohsiung Family Support Center often worry about the costs of schooling and daily living for the upcoming semester. Upholding the spirit of giving back to society and supporting disadvantaged children in pursuing education with peace of mind, King Point Enterprises Co., Ltd. (PATTA) has long partnered with NSYU Sunshine to promote the “Dream Scholarship Program.” Today, they donated NT$1 million in scholarships, benefiting 346 students from the Southern Kaohsiung Family Support Center who have achieved outstanding academic performance or shown significant improvement.

At the event, Chairman David Huang of PATTA and Association Chairman Jin Yong-Qin, along with other distinguished guests, presented children with symbolic lanterns representing “perseverance, protection, and support.” The lanterns served as a metaphor for lighting up students’ dreams and encouraging them to continue striving forward in the face of adversity. NSYU Sunshine is composed of EMBA alumni from National Sun Yat-sen University and has long focused on the educational needs of underprivileged children and youth.

Chairman Jin Yong-Qin noted that the scholarships not only recognize students with excellent academic results but also include a special “Academic Improvement Award” to encourage children who persist and grow despite hardship. For many years, PATTA has steadily invested in charitable initiatives. Chairman David Huang annually rallies his three brothers, dedicating donations in the name of their mother, Madam Huang Hong-Lu, and gathers contributions from suppliers nationwide to raise scholarship funds.

Among the scholarship recipients are many touching life stories, including students who overcame family hardship and built confidence through determination and support. Chairwoman Lai Man-Qi of the Southern Kaohsiung Family Support Center stated that the center currently assists approximately 1,200 families. She expressed heartfelt gratitude to NSYU Sunshine and PATTA for their long-term partnership, noting that these scholarships provide not only material assistance but also confidence and motivation for disadvantaged children to pursue their dreams.
